Impaired driving is one of the common causes of fatal accidents in Arizona and the United States, as seen in accident reports. A person who causes the death of another person faces a vehicular manslaughter charge based on the presence of some relevant factors.
The factors are that the driver recklessly caused the death of another, or he or she intentionally or knowingly committed murder. The offense is classified as a class 2 dangerous felony and carries a penalty of four to ten years imprisonment, and the court can increase it in the case of extreme DUI.
