A woman lost her life in Odessa, Texas, after the car she was traveling in swerved to avoid a horse that suddenly appeared on the road. The accident report revealed authorities identified the victim of the Monday, May 11th, accident as Maria Muniz De Ronquillo.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that the fatal accident occurred on Highway 385, 10 miles south of Odessa, at about 5 a.m. De Ronquillo was traveling as a passenger in a car driven by Raul Ronquillo-Galindo.

The two were heading south on the highway when a horse walked onto the road. The driver swerved to avoid the animal but ended up hitting it. The impact caused the car to sustain severe damage, leaving its occupants with injuries.
That of De Ronquillo was more extensive than Ronquillo-Galindo, and she passed away while receiving treatment at Medical Center Hospital. The TDPS said the deceased and the driver were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. There’s no additional information at this time.
