Initial reports provided by the Fort Worth police showed that a woman lodged in one of the rooms ended up with critical injuries, which eventually led to her death. Investigators gathered from eyewitnesses that the incident began when the teenage suspect driving a truck lost control while doing doughnuts in the middle of the street.
He then struck a car, forcing the truck to drive across the street, right into the hotel building. The north end of the building received the full impact of the hit, with the truck breaking through the walls of the building, into a room. Mancha, who was the occupant of the hotel room, got stuck in the mishap. She died hours later at the John Peter Smith Hospital.
The 16-year-old boy left his vehicle embedded in the wreckage and left for the Comfort Suites, located a few yards away. Witnesses who saw his retreat informed officers of his whereabouts, leading to his arrest.
The teenager now faces charges in connection with Mancha’s death.
Anyone involved in a traffic collision should strive to hire a top accident lawyer as their legal representative.
