On Tuesday, March 24, the coroner’s office released the identity of the man who was killed in a Sunday evening accident along the 91 Freeway in Carson. The accident occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday on Freeway 91 near Central Avenue.
Based on information released by the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle driving westbound on the freeway slammed into the back of a truck that was traveling the same direction. The vehicle hit the truck so hard that it wedged up and under the end of it.

The California Highway Patrol has not released a reason as to why the vehicle ended up crashing into the big rig. The coroner identified 24-year-old Alexander Garcia as the driver of the vehicle.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It was not released if there were any other passengers in his vehicle. It is also unclear at this time if anyone else was injured as a result of the accident.
The collision blocked all westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway. It was reopened once the scene had been investigated and cleared. There has not been a report released about an accident reconstruction.
There has been no speculation that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident. The California Highway Patrol is currently still investigating the accident. If anyone has any information that can aid the investigation, they are asked to call the California Highway Patrol.
