ALPINE, CA – A San Diego man was killed after being hit head-on by a driver who was traveling against traffic on I-8 near Alpine.
The San Diego Union Tribune reports that the incident happened at about 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, when a gray Toyota Scion heading east in a westbound lane collided with a blue Honda CR-V west of Dunbar Lane.

The driver of the blue Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified only as a 59-year-old from San Diego
The California Highway Patrol arrested the driver of the Toyota, Guillermo Christian Robbero III, on felony DUI charges after he was treated for major injuries at Sharps Memorial Hospital. CHP is still investigating this accident and urge anyone with additional information to please come forward.
