A 25-year-old from Carson City has been apprehended after being suspected of having been the driver of a 2008 GMC Sierra that caused the death of a 50-year-old woman from Edmore.
The accident occurred around 7:17 p.m. on March 7, when the Carson City man rear-ended the back of a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu that was driving near the intersection of Stanton Road and Wyman Road in Evergreen Township.

The victim, identified as 50-year-old Patricia Ann Buskirk, was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by a 19-year-old. After the accident, Buskirk was taken to Sheridan Community Hospital, which was where she was ultimately pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries, but they were considered to be non-life threatening.
The driver was arrested on Sunday afternoon after he fled from the scene of the accident on foot before the Michigan State Troopers arrived.
He is being held at the Montcalm County Jail awaiting arraignment for the accident and death of Buskirk.
The Michigan State Troopers are still investigating the accident. At the scene, they were assisted by the state police helicopter, the Montcalm County EMS, the Stanton Fire Department, Bookwalter Towing, and Montcalm County Central Dispatch.
The name of the man has not been released at this time. The reports have not indicated the exact charges he is facing. More information will be available after the investigation and the arraignment.
