The officer tried to stop the speeding teenager, but the young man kept driving, and the lawman soon lost sight of him. A short while after, other officers with the LPD and deputies from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office located Natal and continued the chase.
When the teenager got to the 3400-block of Clovis Road, he could no longer control the speed of a pickup and crashed at a stripe. He sustained minor wounds, and the police took him into custody for evading in a motor vehicle. They remanded him at the Lubbock County Jail, and there is currently no additional information.
Facts from the CDC show that motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of teenagers’ deaths in the United States. The center believes teen crashes are preventable if young people obey the rules and strategies to ensure their safety while on the road.
The latter involves obeying traffic rules and regulations, driving within the speed limit, and pulling over when asked to by law enforcement agencies. Teenagers who crash their cars in a chase should consult auto accident attorneys to represent their interests.
