On Monday, August 10th, Loren Riley, 26, of Covelo, was identified as one of the six people injured in a traffic collision in Mendocino County, California. The alleged DUI crash happened on Saturday morning, August 8th.
The accident report released by the California Highway Patrol disclosed that the crash happened at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Hill Road, just east of Dobie Lane. The investigators said that the events leading to the occurrence began with 25-year-old Milton Hoaglen, of Covelo.

The driver operated a 2016 Mazda CX5 westbound on Hill when he went off the road and struck a large oak tree. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire, and bystanders had to pull out the occupants, including Riley.
The woman sustained significant wounds, and the medics transported her to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Hoaglen suffered severe injuries and received treatment at the Howard Memorial Hospital. The other passengers, aged 4, 5, 12, and 13, suffered varying degrees of injuries, and medics took them to different hospitals in northern California.
The CHP determined that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident, and they arrested him on suspicion of DUI causing injury. There is no information on his bail conditions, and the investigation remains active.
