A male driver and two others survived Plymouth, California, a fatal collision that claimed two lives. The accident occurred on Sunday, March 29th, and Leonel Martinez was the driver of one of the vehicles involved.
The Plymouth police said that Martinez was driving a 2013 Volkswagen Passat on Highway 16 near Welsh Pond Road. At about 7:55 p.m., he collided head-on with a 2018 Chevrolet Cruz, driven by an unnamed female driver.

The woman died at the scene from the injuries she sustained, and an unidentified boy who was a passenger in Martinez’s car also passed away. The male driver sustained severe injuries, but he lived and was taken to the hospital by the paramedics.
Two other passengers in the vehicle identified as Sandra C. Saucedo and Augusto L. Martinez also survived with severe injuries. The condition of the men is unknown at the time of this report.
The crash led the California Highway Patrol to close down Highway 16 for several hours while it conducted a preliminary investigation. The cause of the collision remains elusive, and the CHP does not know if drugs or alcohol played a role.
