The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the woman killed in a car accident in Bakersfield, California. On Thursday, October 15th, the coroner publicly confirmed Crystal Nicole Rubio, 24, a city resident, as the victim.
The accident report disclosed that the woman died on Monday afternoon, October 12th. The Bakersfield Police Department said the collision involved a box truck and a compact sedan in the 3000 block of East Panama Lane.

At about 3:25 p.m., Rubio lost control of the sedan for unknown reasons and then overcorrected into oncoming traffic. The act caused her to collide with a box truck, and the impact left her with extensive injuries.
Responding medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and the driver of the truck remained and cooperated with the police. The BPD said there had been 32 fatal crashes this year within their jurisdiction.
