Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Macon, Georgia, on Wednesday night, May 27th. The county coroner, Leon James, identified those involved as 41-year-old Kimberly Hampton, 17-year-old Xander Abshire, and 30-year-old Jessie Hobby III.
In a press release, the county officials said that the group was in a truck with Hampton behind the wheel and traveling west on Sardis Church Road. At about 8: 30 p.m., the woman could not control the car as she approached an embankment where Sardis intersects with Barfield Road.

When the officers got to the crash site, they found Abshire and Hobby on the roadway and determined the two fell from the truck when it wrecked. Hampton was inside the vehicle and was unresponsive when the medics checked her.
The driver and the teenage male succumbed to their wounds at the scene, and the coroner declared them dead. Hobby survived with undisclosed injuries, and the paramedics used a land ambulance to convey him to Medical Center, Navicent Health. He is currently responding to treatment.
The police notified the next-of-kin of the deceased victims’ before releasing their names, and they are keeping the investigation active. Anyone who witnessed the crash can contact the BCSO or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.
