Officers said the deceased was riding an undisclosed motorcycle model when a Jeep trying to make a U-turn on the roadway struck him. Kidd sustained extensive wounds that sent him to the grave, but the investigators did not state if he passed away at the crash scene or a medical facility.
The CHP ruled out the influence of intoxicants in the accident, and they did not arrest the Jeep’s unnamed driver. The investigation into the crash is still active, but there’s no additional detail at this time.
The state of California has over 800 000 motorcycle riders, and most of them fail to protect themselves when riding, as seen in accident reports. According to the DMV, wearing a helmet and protective clothing increases a motorcyclist’s chance of avoiding severe injuries and possible death.
The helmet must be compliant with the US-DOT guidelines and the US-DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The DMV also advises those riding motor-driven cycle, or motorized bicycle to wear head covers that meet the preceding requirement.
