Jenco at about 2:30 p.m. Monday was driving a vehicle in the 400 block of Midland Avenue when he struck a “fixed object,” according to a press release. Car accident reports do not specify what the fixed object was or whether it was damaged as a result of the incident.
Emergency medical personnel transported Jenco to AMITA Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, according to coroner’s office officials. However, he succumbed to his wounds shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
Preliminary autopsy results suggest Jenco died as a result of “multiple injuries due to a motor vehicle mishap,” according to the release.
“Final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date, pending police, autopsy (and) toxicology reports,” coroner’s office officials said in the release.
The incident remains under investigation by the Joliet Police Department. Police officials told local media outlets that they suspect Jenco might have experienced some sort of medical emergency before the crash occurred.
Car accident reports do not say whether other contributing factors are suspected.
