The Dodge was heading south on Fairfax Road when for unknown reasons, it suddenly made a direct left turn into the westbound lane where a 2002 Chevy Suburban was traveling on. The first car ended up in front of the SUV, and as they entered the intersection, the second car tried to evade the Dodge but couldn’t.
The first car struck the Chevy on the right side, causing it to overturn until it came to a rest on the east shoulder of the road. The wrecked vehicle had six occupants, including Garcia-Ceron, who died from the severe wounds he sustained in the crash.
The accident report also showed that the five remaining occupants of the car sustained minor injuries, and survived. The three occupants of the Dodge also had non-life-threatening injuries, and the medics took eight of them to a local hospital for treatment.
The CHP did not state whether or not the driver who caused the accident that killed Garcia-Ceron would get charged. There is no additional information at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
