A man in Lucas Valley, California, would have to hire a top accident lawyer after crashing into a home twice on Wednesday, April 15th. The authorities identified him as Juan Carlos Torres, 37, of San Francisco.
The California Highway Patrol in a press briefing said that the accident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on Idylberry Road. Torres, while extremely impaired, crashed into a home garage through the fence using a Mustang.

The owner of the house came out, took the suspect’s keys, and went inside to call the police. While the unnamed person was inside, Torres found the key to the house owner’s Toyota and took it in an attempt to run away in it.
The man put the car in drive instead of reverse and ended up crashing into the garage next to the Mustang. The male resident came out and tried to take the key of the Toyota, but Torres struck him on the face repeatedly.
When the police and the CHP arrived, they found the two in the garage and detained the suspect. They took him to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and arrested him afterwards. The authorities are holding him on suspicion of DUI, battery, and vehicle theft.
A California court will consider Torres’ actions to determine his guilt or lack of it during the trial. If convicted, he would do time in state jail, a fine, or both, and have his driving privileges suspended until the court decides otherwise.
Those involved in this kind of crash should consult a top accident lawyer for advice on liabilities and possible defence.
