It was then that a vehicle that Jovan Wade was driving crashed into the squad cars. The vehicle was later identified by the authorities as a red Volkswagen. Wade crashed into the rear of one of the squad vehicles. The sheer force of the impact then pushed the first squad car into the rear of the other squad car.
The CPD officers were fortunately outside the vehicle when the incident occurred. Wade was the only person who sustained injuries in the collision. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-critical injuries. He was subsequently arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage and violating Scott’s Law. Later accident reports reveal that Wade posted bail and was released.
