The pedestrian suffered significant injuries, and he passed away at the scene as medics performed life-saving aid on him. The investigators will release his identity after notifying his next-of-kin.
A little while after, the officers located Padilla’s vehicle a short distance from the crash site, but he was not inside. The information found in the car led the SAPD to his home, where they found and placed him under arrest on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
