Godoy, riding a motorcycle, struck the underside of the overturned Prius. The impact of the hit made the vehicle slide and strike the driver of the SUV, who was standing outside. She suffered moderate injuries as a result.
A CHP report stated that the SUV driver was assisting the Prius driver, also a woman, when the collision occurred. The driver of the Prius complained of pain following the crash. When medics arrived at the scene of the crash, they took both women to a hospital. However, they pronounced Godoy dead.
Motorcyclists must drive carefully when on the road. They must not ride at high speed to avoid colliding with other motorists. Motorcycle riders must always wear protective gear like helmets and knee guards when riding to reduce the risk of severe injuries in case of an accident.
Accident reports show that motorcycle riders are more vulnerable in collisions involving other vehicles. The casualty rates of motorcycle crashes can reduce when riders operate their bikes safely and use helmets.
