A man lost his life in a tragic ATV crash that occurred in the Jackson County on Friday, September 4. Authorities identified the victim as Jeremy Pierce, 44, of Ava as per the recent accident reports. The incident also involved another person who sustained serious injuries. The injured was identified as Joshua Pierce, brother of the deceased.
According to the details shared by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved a collision between two ATVs. The two brothers were driving their ATVs separately. Jeremy Pierce was traveling northbound on the Campground Road while his brother, Joshua, was headed southbound.

It isn’t clear how the accident occurred but the two ATVs came into a head-on collision. The incident took place at night and was reported at around 10:10 p.m. It is possible that the dark conditions contributed to the crash.
The high-impact collision caused critical injuries to Jeremy Pierce. Once the first responders arrived, he was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. Joshua also incurred serious injuries. He was provided primary aid and then airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis. The exact nature and extent of his injuries is not known at this time.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash and deputies were involved with on-site help and investigations. A number of other local agencies helped in the emergency. These included Ava Fire Department and Jackson County Ambulance Service.
