A man died on Monday morning, September 21st after he fell off his bicycle in Bakersfield, California. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified him as Jeremiah Adam Vanscoy, 36.
The accident report disclosed that the victim rode his bicycle on White Lane and Gosford Road before the occurrence. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 10:01 a.m., they dispatched officers to the area for a welfare check on a man on a bike.

The officers were able to locate Vanscoy as he rode eastbound on White near Ashe Road. Shortly after they found the victim, he fell off his bicycle for unknown reasons and struck his head on the pavement.
Medics rushed him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The BPD said that a small number of suspected drugs were on Vanscoy. They believe the drugs played a role in the occurrence, but there is no information on a toxicology test at the time of this report.
