Operating a motorcycle requires a different skill set from driving a car, but when it comes to accidents, the two share similar causes, and the same road rules apply to both of them. A combination of consistent education, regard for traffic laws, and concern for others goes a long way to prevent crashes and fatalities.
Riders can mitigate fatalities by knowing and following essential safety tips like wearing a helmet with a face shield and eye protection, and wearing appropriate apparel. Follow traffic rules, ride defensively, keep your riding skills honed through continuous education, and ride awake and sober. Additionally, when preparing to ride, check the tires, check headlights, taillights, signals, and hydraulic and coolant fluid under the motorcycle.
