The man was driving beyond 100 miles per hour, and also refused to stop when Candler County law enforcement officers tried to get him to yield. The police said that Boney evaded “Stop sticks” meant to flatten his tires, and drove to Bulloch County.
The deputies with the county sheriff’s office deployed more stop sticks as the deceased approached the 119-mile marker, and he tried to avoid them. The act caused the man to crash, and Boney died instantly from the injuries sustained.
The first responders at the scene extricated the deceased from the wrecked vehicle. Cain said that they found methamphetamine in the car, and found out that the man has several license violations and outstanding warrants.
There were no other victims in the crash, and the authorities once again reiterated the importance of obeying traffic officials and stopping when asked to. They asked residents of the county to report car accidents and traffic violators, which has high speeding drivers on top of the list.
