HEMET, CA – Police are on the lookout for the driver of a sedan that fatally struck a woman in northwest Hemet early Sunday morning.
KTLA reports that Hemet police were called to the scene of a crash near the intersection of Sanderson Avenue and Fruitvale Avenue at 3:17 a.m. on April 18. They discovered a victim, believed to be a Hemet woman in her 30’s, lying in the roadway, and performed CPR. She was then rushed to a nearby hospital, but died shortly after admittance.

The driver who struck the woman had already fled the scene by the time police arrived. Investigators are now looking for a brown or tan sedan, and are examining security footage taken from a nearby gas station.
Police had received reports of a woman running into traffic on Kirby Street, a block east of Sanderson, about a half hour before the fatal collision. However, a connection between the two events has not been positively established.
