A woman sustained injuries in a crash that occurred in the Tuolumne County on Tuesday, July 4. The incident involved only one vehicle and the driver operating the vehicle. It took place just before noon on Tuesday and was reported at around 11:30 a.m. as per initial accident reports. According to the details shared by the California Highway Patrol, the injured person was identified as Sarah Freitas, 54, from Hughson.

The vehicle left the roadway at a speed of about 65 miles per hour, then continued for another 100 yards on dirt and grass shoulder. It finally crashed into a tree and stopped.
Once the accident was reported, paramedics and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene of the accident. Sarah Freitas had sustained non-critical injuries in the collision. She was rushed to the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where she received treatment for her injuries.
Preliminary investigations by CHP reveal that Freitas was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. She was also wearing a seatbelt when the incident occurred, which may have contributed in preventing any critical injuries in the crash. Subsequent accident reports may reveal a more precise cause of accident once CHP concludes its investigations.
