On February 26, Tulare Police Department was called to the scene of an accident. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of North H Street and West San Joaquin in Tulare.
Preliminary reports on the accident stated that the cars collided in the intersection. Another car ran a stop sign and slammed into 49-year-old Rudy Carrasco’s car.

The firemen on the scene had to cut Carrasco out of his car to get him out.
Both of the drivers were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for the treatment of the injuries sustained in the accident.
The Tulare Police Department was notified around 11:00 p.m. that Carrasco had died from the injuries he had sustained in the accident.
This isn’t the first time that the Carrasco family has had to deal with losing someone in a car accident. Just four years ago, Carrasco’s father was killed in a head-on car accident in Visalia.
The community is coming together and supporting the family in their time of need. The support has even spread to Fresno State.
Carrasco’s daughter Kelcey plays softball at Fresno State. Her teammates donned stickers that said “R-C” during Friday night’s game against Fullerton.
The family has always been a major supporter of Kelcey and the other Bulldogs at their home games. The coach for the Bulldogs stated that he will be greatly missed. He has always been a supporter and his legacy will live on.
Carrasco started his education career at Tulare Western in 1997. He taught physical education and was the athletic director. In 2006, he became the dean of students.
Carrasco is known for being a family man. He is married to Trisha and they have three children-Kelcey, Kaitlyn, and Conner.
The Tulare Police Department is still investigating the accident that killed Carrasco.
