The deceased before the collision was heading south, and a brown SUV was traveling north on the same roadway. The latter was preparing to make a left turn onto South Waterworks; as the vehicle began turning, the crash happened.
The police spokeswoman Michele Pihera said in a press release that the impact caused the SUV to roll several times before resting on its roof. It also caused Speir to get ejected from his motorcycle, and he landed on the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle described as a 64-year-old Bufford woman did not sustain severe injuries. The police did not release additional information, and the investigation remains active.
Accident reports show that auto-motorcycle collisions are not uncommon in Georgia and the United States. When it happens, the motorcyclist is most likely to sustain severe wounds because of the exposed nature of the bike than the driver of a vehicle.
Traffic officials advise riders to ensure they have on their helmet and safety apparels when riding. Motorcyclists should avoid driving beyond the speed limit, and ensure they are not impaired in any way.
