The man lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons in the travel lane, and crashed. The police said that some of the people the deceased was riding with, along with a passing trauma doctor, stopped to offer aid.
They managed to keep Sault alive until emergency services arrived at the scene, and transported the man to Fairview Hospital using Southern Berkshire Ambulance. From there, the medics used an air ambulance to transport the then-injured man to Baystate Hospital, where he passed away.
The accident report also showed that no other motorcycle was involved in the crash, and no one got injured. The GBPD is heading the investigation into the crash as well as the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.
The two offices are assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Accident Recon Unit and Crime Scene Services. The Barrington Fire Department, Southern Berkshire Ambulance, and Stockbridge Police Department also assisted at the crime scene.
