A Chino Valley man is being sought by Yavapai County authorities for questioning related to his alleged role in a May 5 rollover crash in Paulden that injured a teen girl.
Twenty-three-year-old Grant Prevatt is suspected of multiple charges, including endangerment, criminal damage, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an injury accident, according to a release from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department. Arizona Department of Corrections officials also are seeking Prevatt on warrants alleging violations of his parole.

If charges are brought against Prevatt, he will need to obtain representation from a car injury attorney.
Prevatt at about 2 a.m. May 5 was driving a pickup truck on North Mitchell Lane in Paulden when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over, deputies said. Prevatt reportedly was transporting four passengers, three of whom were teen girls, at the time of the incident.
After the crash, Prevatt kicked out the vehicle’s windshield and left the scene, deputies said. A press release issued this weekend alleged that Prevatt told his passengers he was a felon “and needed to run away.”
A person described in the press release as a “good Samaritan” picked up the girls and transported them back to their vehicle. The girls then called emergency medical personnel, who reportedly found one of the girls possibly having a seizure and bleeding.
Deputies eventually found the crash scene, where they spoke with Prevatt’s fourth passenger, an adult man who was not publicly named. The man identified Prevatt as the driver at the time of the wreck, according to the press release.
Tips about Prevatt’s whereabouts can be reported to the Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. If a tip leads to an arrest, the reporting person might be eligible for a reward of up to $350.
A car injury attorney will be able to help Prevatt navigate the legal system if prosecutors do decide to bring formal charges.
