The action which took place at about 1:30 p.m. caused a chain reaction that made the deceased’s vehicle to collide with another on the roadway. The medics took the injured woman to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where the doctors pronounced her dead.
Whitney said that the driver of the third vehicle and a passenger in it did not sustain any injury and were released at the scene. Morey had life-threatening wounds and had to undergo surgery. There is currently no update on his condition.
Further investigation uncovered that the man was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. The GGP has not discovered if it was prescription drugs or an illegal substance. They charged Morrey with DUI driving, and the investigation remains active.
