The officer smelled marijuana and asked the driver to step out of his vehicle. Instead of obeying, Muhammad drove away, and the police sent out word that they were pursuing the man who was on mile marker 185.
GSP troopers then joined the chase, and at this point, they discovered that the man had children in the car. The pursuit ended when Muhammad struck a patrol car on mile marker 213. The vehicle got damaged, but not before it collided with three more trooper vehicles and a deputy’s car.
The police found four children in the suspect’s vehicle ranging between the ages of nine weeks and 15-year-old. The children were not hurt, and Muhammad also went unscathed. Two injured GSP officers were taken to Piedmont Henry Hospital but later released.
The deputies ran the driver’s name through the system and found that he has a probation warrant out in Bibb County. A search of his vehicle uncovered ten ounces of marijuana as well as Xanax pills, a gun, and $2,000 cash.
A top accident lawyer would be useful to Muhammad as he faces charges of felony fleeing, four counts of reckless conduct, and traffic violations, amid other offenses.
