The wreck occurred precisely in between Haven Avenue and Milliken Avenue. The impact caused the driver of the Saturn, 62-year-old Robert Monreal Beltran to sustain extensive injuries. Paramedics and fire department officials found the driver unresponsive and declared him dead.
The San Bernardino County Coroner disclosed the driver’s identity. The CHP said Amador did not suffer any wound from the fatal collision, and he appeared to be impaired. They arrested him on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The investigators remanded the man into the West Valley Detention Center and set his bail at $250 000. The investigation into the tragic crash remains active, and the CHP will provide an update later.
The authorities used the crash to reiterate the importance of drivers driving sober and ensuring their blood alcohol content is less than the legal .08%. Anyone involved in DUI-related accidents should hire a top accident lawyer.
