The man killed following a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Prague Street, San Francisco, California, has been identified as Fred Robino, 63, of Contra Costa County. The city’s examiner made the identification public on Monday, August 17th.
The car accident report released on the day of the collision, Saturday, August 15th, disclosed that the occurrence began at about 7:30 p.m. with a failed traffic stop. Officers with the San Francisco Police Department tried to stop an Audi A3 driven by Paris Powell, 20, of San Francisco, in the Mission Bay area.

The driver failed to stop; he headed east on Geneva and ran through a stop sign at the intersection. He then collided with a Toyota minivan heading north on Prague. The vehicle, driven by Robino, was turning west onto Geneva when the collision happened.
The impact left the victim severely injured, and he died at the scene. The police said that two female passengers in the minivan, aged 57 and a 35, suffered severe injuries, and medics took them to the hospital for treatment.
Powell abandoned his car, leaving behind his four passengers with unspecified injuries. Medics conveyed the quartet to the hospital, and their names and condition remain unknown. Officers located the Audi driver with a firearm in his possession and placed him under arrest.
The investigators charged the man with suspicion of homicide, evading an officer resulting in death, and reckless driving resulting in severe injury. Powell is also facing charges of child endangerment, delinquency of a minor, hit-and-run involving injury, and carrying a concealed firearm, among other non-bailable offenses.
