When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found Jones severely injured and lying on the road. The paramedics declared the man unresponsive and pronounced him dead. There is no record of another injury from the accident.
The authorities did not disclose the name of the driver or the make of the vehicle the deceased collided with. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
Motorcycle accidents are not uncommon in California with over 800 000 registered motorcyclists. When the two-wheeled drive collides with a car, the rider is more likely to sustain fatal injuries due to the body having no protection when it lands on the road.
The California Department of Motor Vehicles advises riders to wear a US-DOT complaint safety helmet when riding a motorcycle, a motor-driven cycle, or a motorized bicycle. The headgear must show evidence of the manufacturer’s certification, and state that it complies with US-DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
Those involved in auto-motorcycle crashes should make an accident report immediately to anyone injured a shot at surviving.
