CHULA VISTA, CA – Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle head-on collision in the Otay Ranch neighborhood on Wednesday evening, reports FOX 5.
The Chula Vista Police Department said the crash occurred on Palomar Street at the Santa Olivia Road intersection around 5:30 p.m.

The preliminary report stated a black BMW SUV was heading westbound at a high speed, when it crashed head-on into another vehicle. The vehicles then struck another two vehicles.
According to the Chula Vista Fire Department, two motorists required extrication before being taken to a nearby trauma center along with another victim. Two others were injured but declined transport to the hospital.
Fortunately, police believe the injuries are non-life-threatening.
Authorities say the SUV driver is being investigated for DUI, though their hospitalization has led to delays.
