BAKERSFIELD, CA – Troopers with the California Highway patrol have reported a single fatality resulting from a two-vehicle collision near Highway 43 Sunday.
According to KGET, the accident occurred when the driver of a Nissan Versa failed to stop at a posted stop sign at Peterson Road and was struck by a Nissan Murano.

Both 65-year-old occupants in the Murano were transported to Kern Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver in the Versa, a 24-year-old woman was also transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
