The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to an early morning accident on Sunday, March 22. The accident occurred just before 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 84 and Farm-to-Market 1585.
A pedestrian was walking in the westbound lanes of U.S. 84, for unknown reasons, when she was hit by a vehicle. Not a lot of information has been released at this time. The accident investigation has not concluded.

The Texas Department of Public Safety did release that the victim in the accident was 39-year-old Kadi Lynn Touchon. Medical personnel was called to the scene of the accident at the same time the police responded, but they were unable to save Touchon.
She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and cooperated fully with the police. The name of the driver has not been released at this time, nor has a description of the vehicle. The driver was not injured in the accident.
Officials have not released if Touchon was in a crosswalk at the time of the accident or not. The Texas Department of Transportation assisted in rerouting traffic in the area while the scene was processed. The area was near All American Chevrolet dealership.
The accident is still considered under investigation. No charges or citations have been filed at this time. Updates will be made available as they are released to the public.
