DEL MAR, CA – A tree-trimming truck caught fire on I-5 in Del Mar on Monday morning, threatening a wildfire in the area, NBC 7 reports.
The vehicle caught fire at about 7:30 a.m. on April 19 while in the interstate’s southbound lanes, just ahead of Del Mar Heights Road. San Diego police and California Highway Patrol units were evidently on the scene, and called San Diego Fire-Rescue to douse the flames before they could spread to nearby hills.

Footage of the scene showed the driver standing outside the truck. It is unclear whether that individual or anyone else was injured.
Authorities closed the off-ramp to Del Mar Heights for about 90 minutes. It reopened by 9 a.m.
