An update to one of the car accident reports from the city of Los Angeles, California, revealed the name of the teenager who died in a car crash. On Monday, May 18th, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office disclosed the victim’s name as Elver Cruz, 17.
The teenager passed away from the injuries he sustained in the accident that took place on Thursday, May 14th. The preliminary accident report showed that Cruz and his unidentified brother were traveling together on 110 Freeway. Authorities received a call about the accident at about 12:30 a.m.

The deceased was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred, causing him to get ejected and land on the roadway. The impact left Cruz with severe wounds that claimed his life at the scene, and the medics pronounced him.
The victim’s brother, whom the police say is also a teenager, sustained extensive injuries, and the medics took him to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. The authorities have not determined if the brothers were involved in a solo crash or collided with another vehicle.
The investigators did not also indicate if Cruz or his brother was driving the vehicle when they crashed. The California Highway Patrol is heading the investigation into the accident. They will release an update once they have more information.
