A suspected DUI driver who caused a fatal accident in Seal Beach, California, on Sunday, September 20th, would need representation from a drunk driving attorney. The Seal Beach Police Department took Elizabeth Landess, 30, into custody after she struck and killed a male pedestrian.
According to Sgt. Nick Nicholas, officers arrested the Long Beach resident on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and booked her into the Orange County Jail. The crash report showed that Landes drove a gray 2018 Ford Eagle a little after midnight.

California has one of the most stringent impaired driving laws in the United States. A first offense without bodily injury is punishable by nearly $2,000 in fines and assessments, 48 hours in jail, several months of license suspension, and completion of a 3-month alcohol education program.
If a person commits a second or subsequent DUI offense within ten years, the sentence would be as long as 16 months in state prison, and roughly $18,000 in fines and assessment. The person would also have his or her driving privileges suspended and undergo a 30-month alcohol treatment program.
