Police said a Texas teen was intoxicated Thursday afternoon when he crashed into another vehicle on a Houston roadway, killing the other driver.
Eighteen-year-old Elian Aguillon was arrested at the scene of the fatal wreck on a felony manslaughter charge, the Houston Police Department reported. Investigators said he was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the crash, which occurred at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

Aguillon was booked into the Harris County Jail after the crash. It is unclear from online records available Saturday whether he has sought representation from a drunk driving attorney.
Aguillon at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday was driving south “at a high rate of speed” in the 7800 block of Irvington Boulevard, according to a police department press release. He eventually collided with another vehicle, the driver of which was trying to turn left onto Apache Street, police said.
The 47-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead from his injuries at the scene. His identifying information is being withheld pending test results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, authorities said.
No other injuries have been listed in connection to the crash.
“Aguillon was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested at the scene,” authorities wrote in the press release. He will be tried in 337th State District Court on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
It is unclear from online records when Aguillon is due back in court, nor is it clear whether he has hired a drunk driving attorney. Online jail rosters no longer list Aguillon as an inmate, but it is unclear whether he posted bond.
