SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities say an 84-year-old woman suffered critical injuries in a crash near the San Diego Zoo that was potentially caused by a hit-and-run.
According to Sanichas Buecher Regal, the woman had just taken the Quince Drive exit from northbound State Route 163, when she lost control of her 2018 Honda HR-V. The vehicle then hit a guardrail near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Quince drive, just before 2:30 p.m.

The elderly woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officer Robert Heims said the Honda had “unexplained damage” to its rear, suggesting that it may have been struck by a hit-and-run driver shortly before the incident.
