DIAMOND BAR, CA – A 83-year-old man was killed following an eight-vehicle collision in Diamond Bar on Wednesday afternoon, local news reports.
The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. in the intersection of Golden Springs Drive and Brea Canyon Road. It was caused when a Mercedes-Benz C230 ran a red light at a high speed.

The Mercedes initially struck a car turning left on to Brea Canyon Road before hitting several other vehicles and eventually crashing head-on into a Honda.
The driver of the Mercedes was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of his vehicle. After being rushed to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center he died Wednesday evening.
The man driving the Honda was also hospitalized with minor injuries. No one else was hospitalized.
