The preliminary accident report showed that the accident took place on Interstate 8 at about 12:10 a.m. on the eastbound lane, east of Baltimore Drive. According to Officer Travis Garrow of the California Highway Patrol, Briseno was speeding while behind the wheels of a 2009 Cadillac CTS.

The uncontrolled speed caused the young man to rear-end a 2017 Honda Civic driven by a 36-year-old Uber driver. The impact of the collision caused the second driver to lose control of the Honda.
The vehicle overturned, leaving the male Uber motorist with severe injuries. The medics transported him to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. Garrow said that the man had a 22-year-old female passenger who suffered minor injuries and also received treatment.
The investigators believe the young woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Briseno did not sustain any injury from the collision, but he displayed signs of impairments, which led to his arrest.
The authorities took him into custody on suspicion of DUI causing injuries, and they booked him into the San Diego Central Jail. The suspect’s bail is set at $100 000, and his arraignment scheduled for Friday, May 29th.
Those involved in DUI-related collisions should consult a drunk driving attorney to represent their interests.
