Trevino was driving west on Valley Pkwy in a Mitsubishi Galant. It is suspected Trevino hit the curb multiple times and then veered onto the sidewalk and slammed into a palm tree.
The vehicle then rolled over after striking metal poles in a parking lot of a nearby restaurant. The car finally stopped in the patio of that restaurant. Nobody was seated in the area at the time.
The accident partially ejected Trevino from the vehicle. He was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
It is unknown at the time if he was impaired at the time at the accident. The incident is being investigated by Escondido Police.
