SANTA ANA, CA – One man was killed as he attempted to drive across train tracks and was struck by a freight train Monday afternoon.
According to the Orange County Register, the accident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. along the tracks near Grand Avenue and Hunter Avenue.

Investigators say a 61-year-old man was attempting to drive over the tracks while the railroad crossing sign was active when the train struck his white Chevrolet sedan. Emergency crews pronounced him deceased at the scene.
