Based on the investigation by the California Highway Patrol, it was at this point that the truck began to overturn multiple times in the roadway. Because of the impact sustained to the vehicle, Soto and his two passengers were ejected from the truck.
Police did not release if the three occupants of the truck were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Paramedics on the scene assessed Soto and the two passengers, determining that they suffered significant injuries in the accident. They were then transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities have determined that Soto was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. There has not been any indication that he has been charged at this time, but once he recovers from his injuries, he is likely facing DUI charges in conjunction with the accident.
At this time, police are still investigating the accident. There were no updates on the passengers or Soto at the time of release.
