While crossing in a crosswalk at intersection Ga.92 and Robin Road, Donald Beacham was struck and killed by a motorist. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 AM Saturday. This was reported Monday in a news release from Capt. Jay Baker, a Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesman. The accident took place as Mr. Beacham was crossing from Woodstock furniture outlet.
The driver of the vehicle was making a left turn when he struck Donald Beacham, who was 64. Mr. Beacham sustained serious injuries and was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.

The driver of the vehicle was Kevin Orr of Acworth and is 63 years old. He remained at the scene of the accident. Although at the time of the press release, the investigation was still ongoing, according to Capt. Baker neither speed or impairment was the cause of the accident, and no charges were filed.
