The vehicle rear-ended a driver of an SUV on the roadway, then it hit a parked car, pushing it over the parking blocks. Treyvon was sitting in the stationary vehicle and had just stepped into the grocery store when the accident occurred.
The young man told the authorities that he was waiting for his aunt, who was shopping in the store. He noted that he would have sustained severe injuries had he not decided to join his aunt inside.
Treyvon also told the police that the drivers of both vehicles appeared to be going over 80 miles per hour. A passenger in the Charger sustained injuries, as well as the occupants of the SUV it struck, and the paramedics took all four to the hospital.
The police said that the BMW driver took off, and they have not revealed the identities of the people who were injured or the driver of the Charger. The accident report also showed that the residents of the city want the drag race to end, and for riders to put public safety first.
