There are a lot of reasons why accidents occur, and rainfall is one of them. Rain makes the road slippery and sleek, and it causes vehicles to spin when drivers try to step on the brake in the event of a collision.
Older drivers are prone to crash more in adverse weather conditions than any other age group. Authorities have advised older people to avoid driving when it rains, snows, or in foggy weather.
Older drivers should also avoid being on the road at night or the early hours of the morning, and ensure that they regularly maintain their vehicle. To drive in adverse weather conditions, older people should ensure they keep the speed limit, pay attention to the road, and obey traffic laws.
