The Bloomington Police Department arrested the female driver who fled the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Bloomington, Illinois, and she would need a top accident lawyer. Destiney Bates, 27, was involved in the Thursday, June 25th, accident.
The accident report disclosed that the collision occurred at the intersection of Madison Street and Oakland Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that one of the vehicles flipped over. A preliminary investigation uncovered that one of the cars was driving on Madison Street and the other on Oakland Avenue.

Bates, the driver of the overturned vehicle, fled from the scene after the collision and was later seen walking out of a nearby apartment. Officers tried to apprehend the woman, and a foot chase ensued. They eventually arrested the suspect without incident and conducted a DUI investigation.
The BPD charged the woman with aggravated DUI causing an accident or bodily harm, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more, and failure to report an accident with injury. She is also facing failure to obey a stop sign, operating an uninsured vehicle, resisting a police officer, driving with no license, and suspended registration.
Bates sustained injuries from the crash, and the police took her to St. Joseph’s emergency room for treatment and took her to McLean County Jail after getting released. The driver of the other vehicle identified as a 22-year-old Normal woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at Advocate BroMenn Hospital.
